WINSLOW FARM SEEKS HELP FOR NEW ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ HOME

Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary, located at 37 Eddy Street in Norton, MA, is seeking assistance in the construction of a new ‘special needs’ barn.

The new 30’ x 30’ barn, already under way, will house the special needs animals who live at Winslow Farm. So far, the residents of the new barn will include Half-Moon, a blind horse, Hershey, who suffers from a chronic leg injury and several of the sheep who have arthritis. The barn will also be used for any other animals that may require special care from future injury or illness.

Winslow has been able to build the main structure of the barn through the generosity of an anonymous donor who provided all of the lumber and the kind men who have volunteered their time to build it.

The need for the project doesn’t stop there however. Winslow’s new barn is in need of an outdoor wood furnace that will keep the barn warm through the winter, a new metal roof, which was determined to be the best type for this barn and a horse sling, which will be used for Hershey to help relieve the pressure from his foot. All of these critical additions will cost upwards of $20,000.00 and Winslow is asking the public for assistance.

“Our new barn will provide extra comfort for our animals who need extra care. Where others may give up on animals who are not 100% healthy, after the suffering our wonderful animals have endured in their lifetimes, we feel they deserve it.”, says Debra White, President of Winslow Farm.

All donations made to Winslow Farm are tax-deductible. For more information, please contact Debra White by phone at 508-285-6451 or by email at wnslofrm@aol.com.

Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit animal reserve, which is owned and operated by Debra White. The farm was established in 1996 for the care of abused and abandoned farm and exotic animals.

Visitors to Winslow Farm can receive a personal tour of the farm from a volunteer guide, where they can walk the farm's peaceful surroundings, among friendly llamas, emus, mini horses, goats, sheep, pheasant, pigs and much more.

Winslow Farm also offers a petting area, perennial garden and nature trail, teepee camping, and many other activities. For a list of those activities, please call the farm and request a brochure.
