New Rhode Island General Laws arrive at State House??
STATE HOUSE — House Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello announced that the LexisNexis printed publications of the 2017 general law supplements and reenactment volumes have been distributed through the Law Revision Office of the Joint Committee on Legislative Services.??
The publication and distribution process is coordinated in conjunction with the publisher, LexisNexis.??
Speaker Mattiello explained that the newly enacted general laws of the State of Rhode Island are annually codified and published after a sequential proofing and editing process undertaken by the Law Revision Office.??
This office is statutorily responsible for editing and modernizing Rhode Island???s newly enacted laws before they are published.??
In this regard, the Director of the Law Revision Office is authorized to rearrange, rephrase, and consolidate these laws so that obsolete enactments are eliminated and imperfections cured, all an integral part of the final publication process.??????
