Dear Pawtucket Residents,
Thursday marked an unforgettable moment in Pawtucket’s history as we officially broke ground on the new Unified Pawtucket High School at the former McCoy Stadium site.

This project is a promise to our students, families, and educators that Pawtucket is fully committed to their future. After years of planning and determination, we are proud to begin building a state-of-the-art learning environment that will unite Tolman and Shea High Schools into one modern campus designed to serve more than 2,000 students.
This groundbreaking celebrates not only what is to come, but also what has come before. McCoy Stadium holds a special place in the hearts of Pawtucket residents. It’s where generations of memories were made.

This school will honor that legacy while laying the foundation for a new chapter. The new Pawtucket Unified High School will offer diverse academic and career pathways, preparing students for success in college, careers and the trades. With this project, we’re giving our youth the tools they need to dream big and achieve even more.
I want to thank our incredible partners at the federal, state and local levels who made this possible. Your leadership and collaboration have brought this vision to life. I can’t wait to see the doors of this new school open in 2029 and to witness the incredible things our students will accomplish there.

Warm regards,
Mayor Donald Grebien
