PPL: APRIL VACATION PROGRAMS

April Vacation Programs
For Children @ the Pawtucket Public Library
(13 Summer St.)

The Pawtucket Public Library Children’s Library at 13 Summer Street has a series of special events planned for the week of April vacation. All programs for April vacation week are free and do not require registration.

Monday, April 14th
3:00PM
Pet Cents
Kids ages 8-12 are invited to play Pet Cents! Players adopt a pet — and take on the financial responsibilities of pet ownership — as they visit various stations around the room. At each stop, players engage in financial transactions with an assistant/cashier, spending and receiving money until the timer runs out. Along the way, they are faced with unexpected events that could result in a financial windfall or expense. Kids will have fun playing the game and learning financial literacy skills at the same time.

Tuesday, April 15th
2:00PM
Karaoke Afternoon Fun
Join us for a fun afternoon of karaoke. Sing your favorite song and dance with friends. A fun event for the whole family. For kids ages 5 and up (younger siblings are welcome).

Wednesday, April 16th
10:30AM
Children’s Day/Book Day Celebration
Come join us to celebrate Children’s Day/Books Day. A national day celebrating children, different cultures and the importance of literacy (also known as Día). On this day, we will be having a puppet story time followed by simple craft. A light snack and a free book will be provided.

Thursday, April 17th
1:00PM
Hold A Chick
Come learn how chickens are raised at Casey Farm! You will learn about the life cycle of chickens. There will also be a collection of eggs from humming bird all the way up to Ostrich! You will get to observe and touch a real live Dominique Chicken. Finally, you will be shown how to correctly hold a chick and each person will get a chick to hold!

Friday, April 18th
1:00PM
All About Birds
Celebrate Earth Day early by joining Ms. Britt, our children’s librarian and resident bird enthusiast to learn all about local birds found here in Rhode Island and what you can do to be a great neighbor to all wildlife. Then make and bring home an allergen-free DIY bird feeder made from Sun Butter and recycled cardboard tubes! This program is recommended for ages 5 and up.
