Mayor Donald R. Grebien Appoints Jason M. Pezzullo as City of Pawtucket’s Director of Commerce
PAWTUCKET – Mayor Donald R. Grebien announced the appointment of Jason Pezzullo as the City of Pawtucket’s next Director of Commerce. With an impressive background in economic development and a proven track record of fostering growth and investment, Pezzullo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this critical role.
Jason Pezzullo served as the Director of Planning for the City of Cranston for 6 years, during which time he successfully oversaw significant projects, including Chapel View, Garden City Center, and TopGolf. During his tenure, he also led Cranston’s Planning Commission and played a pivotal role in developing and implementing essential policies and procedures, such as the city’s hazard mitigation plan.
“Jason’s leadership will undoubtedly contribute to Pawtucket’s continued growth and success,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “We are confident that his extensive background and forward-thinking approach will benefit both our business community and residents alike.”
Pezzullo holds Master’s degrees in both Public Administration and Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island, complementing his bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College, which he earned in 1999. His extensive career includes positions in the planning departments of East Providence, Hopkinton, and Coventry.
As the Director of Commerce, Pezzullo will be dedicated to expanding opportunities for Pawtucket, supporting local businesses, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance the city’s economic vitality.
His vision and expertise are expected to strengthen Pawtucket’s standing as a hub for innovation, commerce, and community engagement.
His first day with the City of Pawtucket will be Monday, January 27, 2025.
