NEWPORT CAR MUSEUM

Looking Back (2024), Roaring Forward (2025)

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (January 7, 2025) – Milestones in 2024 for Portsmouth, R.I.’s Newport Car Museum included averaging over 2,000 visitors a week during the summer months, being named to Tripadvisor’s top 10 percent of attractions worldwide (for a second time), and topping 100 cars on display while officially completing the Porsche wonderland that comprises a seventh gallery for all to enjoy. Foreign visitors were back in full force, and the Museum continued to see a significant rise in young adults driving long distances to immerse themselves in the evolution of automotive history from the mid-1950s to today.

In 2024, the Museum unveiled (counter-clockwise from top in photo above), a 2023 Corvette 3LT, 2023 Corvette Z06 3LZ, 2023 Porsche 718 Boxter Spyder, 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 1969-1973 Porsche 917 Re-Creation

“Not to toot our own noisemakers, but we have never been ones to rest on our laurels,” said Head Docent Vincent Moretti. “Already, we are planning 2025 additions and embellishments, including but not limited to a Tesla CYBERBEAST (with fan-inspired graphics), which will be displayed outside the Museum, and a specially-commissioned 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” that will make a stunning impression in the World Car Gallery.”
