THE CITY OF PAWTUCKET ANNOUNCES EXPIRING TERMS AND VACANCIES ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR 2025
PAWTUCKET, RI — The City of Pawtucket is seeking dedicated residents to help shape the future of our community by serving on one of the city’s many boards and commissions.
Below is a list of boards and commissions with expiring terms or vacancies for 2025:
• Arts & Culture Advisory Commission: 3 terms expiring in October; 4 additional vacancies
• Arts Panel Review Committee: 2 terms expiring in June (City Council appointed); 1 additional vacancy (School Official appointed)
• Board of Appeals: 2 terms expiring in January (1 being an alternate member)
• Board of Canvassers: 1 term expiring in March; 2 alternate member vacancies (Note: Expiring term must be filled by a Republican; alternates require one Democrat and one Republican)
• Charter Review Commission: No terms expiring in 2025
• Historic District Commission: 2 terms expiring in February; 2 additional vacancies
• Pawtucket Housing Authority: 1 term expiring in July; 1 additional vacancy
• Juvenile Hearing Board: 3 terms expiring in December; 1 vacancy (Note: The board must have at least seven members, including one from each councilmanic district and one under age 25)
• Mayor’s Community Board: 5 terms expiring; 10 additional vacancies
• Parks/Tree Commission: 3 terms expiring in August
• Pawtucket Business Development Corporation: 3 terms expiring in January; 2 additional vacancies (Note: The board must have at least 17 members and no more than 19)
• Pawtucket Hall of Fame Committee: 4 terms expiring in December; 1 additional vacancy (Note: The committee must have at least 9 members and no more than 15)
• Pawtucket Redevelopment Agency: 1 term expiring in September
• Pension Board: 1 vacancy (Mayor Appoints); 1 vacancy (Council Appoints)
• Personnel Board: 1 term expiring in January
• City Planning Commission: 1 term expiring in January; 2 alternate member vacancies
• Public Art Fund Committee: 1 term expiring in June; 3 additional vacancies (Note: Membership requirements include an artist, an architect/designer, and a member of the Arts & Culture Advisory Commission)
• Public Library Trustees: 3 terms expiring in January; 1 additional vacancy
• Purchasing Board: 1 term expiring in January
• Riverfront Commission: 3 terms expiring in June (Mayor Appoints); 2 terms expiring in June (Council Appoints); 1 additional vacancy
• Water Supply Board: 1 term expiring in January
