Join artist Ellen Adamson in this fun one-day pyrography (woodburning) workshop and learn how to use woodburning tools and techniques to decorate two beautiful turned-wood ornaments. A variety of shapes and sizes will be available. Using various burning tools, you will create a unique design, then you’ll add color and finishing elements. Come and make a cherished holiday keepsake for yourself or a loved one!
No experience necessary and all materials are included in the price of the class.

Ellen Adamson has over thirty-five years of wood burning experience and her work has appeared in many regional exhibits. Ellen enjoys combining folk arts elements with traditional design techniques, to create her designs, which incorporate strong graphic elements and color.

The ancient art of quilling, also known as paper filigree, uses narrow strips of paper, which are rolled, shaped, and then glued together to form designs. In this make & take workshop with artist Mary Jane Xenakis, students will learn to make the basic shapes needed to create a winter-themed greeting card, as demonstrated in class.
Materials fee is included in tuition, which covers all materials used in class. The instructor will have tools and materials for purchase for those who would like to continue quilling at home.
Stained Glass Holiday: An Ornament-Making Workshop

Treat yourself this holiday season and join Helaine and Mike and create a beautiful stained glass ornament in this one-day Saturday workshop. You’ll choose a pattern and then learn how to cut glass, prepare them for assembly, then solder them together into a unique holiday keepsake. No experience is required, and all materials are provided.
Helaine Buckley earned her BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design. After working for 10 years as a photography gallery director/curator of the Berenice Abbott Estate, she achieved her MAT in Art Education. She taught art in New Jersey for 16 years. In 2003, the Lab School of Washington and The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation selected her as one of the top 30 Art Teachers in the United States. Upon retiring, she moved to Cape Cod and started making Stained Glass. Her creative interests include fiber arts, basket weaving, mixed media printmaking as well as photography and stained glass. Her photography has been exhibited in New York, New Jersey, and China.
Michael Walter has been an artisan working with glass and wood for over 20 years. The joy of the project is his motto. He has studied in glass at Diablo School of Glass and wood at The North Bennet School and Penland School of Craft. His love of tinkering and learning new skills leads him in many directions; electrical, metal, tile, plastics. You never know what might add flair to a project. He loves to mentor and teach people of all ages. He thinks everyone should be able to work with their hands and make something they are proud of and hang on their wall or “window”:) Or better yet, leave as legacy piece to their kids or grandkids to be handed down for generations.
