Rhode Island???s Historic Blackstone River Valley????

The June 10-11 weekend in Rhode Island???s Blackstone River Valley National Historic Park showcases another dimension of its background, as creative and performing arts take center stage, along with bringing an English tradition close to home in Southern New England.

While Blackstone River Valley is recognized for its manufacturing legacy as the actual birthplace of America???s Industrial Revolution, many know the region today as a go to destination to experience visual and performing arts and cultural entertainment.

Over the weekend see the talents of well known local musicians, discover your own creative music and dance skills, plus enjoy the England sport of fox hunting.

Health and music for a cause!

With everyone concerned about their own personal health and how it impacts their quality of life, the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame and Tune In& Tune Up partner for a special public health fair and benefit concert, Feeling Alright: A Health Fair and Unity Concert, to be held on Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at the Hope Artiste Village, Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame Museum and Met Caf?? in Pawtucket, RI.

According to a press release from the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame: ???Feeling Alright??? will feature a free public Health Fair from 1pm – 4pm. Exhibitors and presenters will be made up of Doctors, Health Care Professionals, Holistic Health Providers and Wellness practitioners. Exhibitors will be available to answer questions about products and services as well as provide literature and informational materials. A guest lecture series will run throughout the day focusing on key areas of Health & Wellness.?? The??Unity Concert will run from 4 pm to 9pm. Opening the show will be ???The Rock???n Docs???, a band of RI local physicians followed by the funk & soul of ???Take It to The Bridge???. The headline act is THE TUNE IN & TUNE UP ALL-STAR BAND & THE FABULOUS TUNETTES with featured performances by:?? Duke Robillard, John Cafferty, James Montgomery, Steve Smith, Becky Chace, Michael Antunes, Philip Pemberton, Gary Gramolini, Rudy Cheeks, Mark Cutler, Chris Vachon, Brian Minisce, Emerson Torrey, Bill Light, Marissa Licata, Steve Malec, Adrienne West, Ron Lewis and many more! The Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame is a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating, honoring, and preserving the legacy of Rhode Island musicians, educators, and industry professionals who have made significant contributions to the national and Rhode Island music scene. The Hall will carry out its mission through the annual election of inductees, creation of a museum of artist- and music-related exhibits honoring inductees and commemorating the state???s musical legacy, and an online music archive of information about, and audio recordings by, those involved in Rhode Island???s past and present music scene.

In addition, the Hall is committed to continuing that legacy by supporting programs and services aimed at promoting and strengthening Rhode Island???s current and future music scene and ensuring that music continues to play an important role in the lives of all Rhode Islanders.

Jazz and blues in Woonsocket!

It???s often said that all of us have a hidden performer inside of our beings. For those who want to bring out their talents, consider The Rhody Center for World Music & Dance, located in the historic Pawtucket Armory Arts Center, 172 Exchange Street, Pawtucket, RI.

Throughout the year The Rhody Center offers an array of diverse classes and instruction for all ages in music and dance, plus community ensembles. The mission of The Rhody Center is to make performing art skills of dance and music fun and expressive.

An English tradition along Great Road!

Sunday, June 11, 10:30 am-2 pm, head over to the scenic and historic Chase Farm Park, located along the Great Road Historic District (Route123) Lincoln, RI for a traditional English fox hunt, presented by the nearby Hearthside House historic home site.

According to event organizers, this traditional English fox hunt with “Downton Abbey” style pageantry at historic Chase Farm Park in Lincoln. Sponsored by Hearthside House, with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit volunteer organization. Brief lecture at 10:30 a.m. begins day’s festivities. Hunt officially starts at 11:30 a.m., lasting about 45 minutes. Buffet luncheon follows. Tickets are $45 and must be purchased in advance.
