GIRL SCOUTS SHINE CEREMONY

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England Celebrated Bronze, Silver & Gold Award Recipients in Their Community

On Saturday, May 20th , Girl Scouts from across Southeastern New England received their Gold Awards and celebrated among friends and family during this important and pivotal Girl Scout tradition.

This extra special event was recently renamed to reflect a new local council tradition where not only Gold Award achievers are recognized but ALL Highest Awards earners are honored.

This included acknowledging the efforts of our ambitious Bronze Awardees, as well as spotlighting all Silver Awardees too!

The event was held at the Warwick Country Club, where we warmly welcomed guest speaker Darlene Allen, the Executive Director of Adoption RI.

In addition, the council???s three Young Women of Distinction were announced at the ceremony. This honor is given to Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who???s Gold Award projects demonstrated extraordinary leadership, had a measurable and sustainable impact, and addressed a local challenge related to a national and/or global issue.

These young women are taking matters into their own hands, generating much-needed change!

Elysandra Larlham

Over 150 people attended the Gold Awards ???Shine??? Ceremony, including Congressman Jim Langevin and Congressman David Cicilline, who both thanked the girls for their impressive commitment to community and leadership.
