Classical High School Alumni Association and Varsity Club Announces 2017 Hall of Fame Inductees:
Providence, Rhode Island – The Classical High School Alumni Association (CHSAA), in conjunction with the Classical High School Varsity Club, proudly announces the induction of the following recipients to its 2017 Classical Varsity Hall of Fame: Joanna Skiba ’03,??Lorenzo “Larry” Gallo ’69, Terrance Myers ’02, Jerrelle Upchurch ’03, Leandro Bonehi ’02, Moses Sonko ’02, Carlos Lopez ’89, Coach Mike Brown (posthumously), Coach Ed Wnuk, Coach Ken Wnuk, and the 2000 – 2002 Football and Track teams.??
Classical High School is an entrance exam college preparatory??public school in Providence,??Rhode Island,??known for its rigorous academics,??award winning athletics??and the??alumni??achievements.????An annual event, the Sports Hall of Fame honors??Classical???s??most distinguished??past??athletes, coaches, and??sports??teams.??
The honorees will be inducted into the??Sports??Hall of Fame at??their??annual dinner on Sunday, June 11th, 2017 from??6:00pm????? 9:00 pm??at Twelve Acres??Restaurant??in Smithfield, RI.??Proceeds from this event??are earmarked for various??athletic department needs.????As part of the night???s ceremonies, graduating senior athletes are also inducted into the school???s Varsity Club, receiving a ceremonial pin from the honorees, faculty and alumni.??
The mission of the CHSAA is to provide support to Classical High School in Providence, Rhode Island. The Association shall achieve its mission by: (i) enhancing the educational experience of current students at the School; (ii) building and maintaining relationships among the School???s alumni and friends; (iii) raising funds for activities of both the School and the Association; and (iv) preserving and supporting the tradition of excellence of the School.
