New and exciting things are happening with the Ring for Register of Deeds campaign! This summer we’ve had fundraisers, and four 4th of July parades in which I was able to meet with thousands of voters in Cape Ann. www.facebook.com/Jonathanring.
During the parades I got many questions – what is the Registry of Deeds? Is the Registry involved in tracking Veteran’s Memorials? How can the Registry help me protect my title? Many people didn’t even know it was an elected office.
As a result, I’ve decided to add a new section to my website that explains the basic functions of the Registry of Deeds and the Register of Deeds – as well as Registry links and Resource links to help people understand title fraud, and certain laws affecting home ownership rights. I also have articles discuss rent scams and how to avoid them.
