Since 2002 the Attleboro Arts Museum has presented a late summer 8 Visions group exhibition featuring the work of eight juried member artists.
The exhibiting artist review process for this year’s 8 Visions began during the Museum’s Members’ Exhibition in December of 2023.
Over 60 artists applied to be considered for this premiere exhibition opportunity.
Members’ Exhibition juror Jodi Stevens, Executive Director at the Marion Art Center in Marion, MA, carefully reviewed the work of these artists and the field was narrowed down.
Two new jurors, Francine Weiss, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at the Newport Art Museum, and Peter Alpers, Owner, Alpers Fine Art of Rockport, MA, were invited to continue the process and combed through the finalist’s portfolios.
In the end, a talented team of eight was selected. Working in a broad range of disciplines and concepts, the 2024 8 Visions artists will exhibit their work from July 27 – August 2, 2024 in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery.
Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator states, 8 Visions 2024’s artwork is direct, revealing and curious.
Exhibiting artists are offering slices of experience, reflections on current affairs, or asking viewers to dream, remember and question.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 27 , 4 00pm – 5:30pm
RSVP by July 26 : 508-222-2644 x10 or office@attleboroartsmuseum.org
