TEN MILE RIVER CLEAN-UP

The City of Attleboro will hold its 11th Annual River Clean-Up on Saturday, May 20th, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.

The clean-up is held rain or shine. Volunteers from Attleboro and surrounding towns are needed for a fun morning of river clean-up and trash collecting along the Ten Mile River banks and walking trails.

Sign-up will be at the tent located at the Community Garden on Riverbank Road, Attleboro. The GPS address is 37 Hayward Street, Attleboro.

Families and children are welcome to collect trash along the river walkways. Free refreshments will be supplied by Dunkin Donuts. Some clean-up supplies will be provided although anyone wanting to be a “River Rat” should bring their own waders or wetsuit.

Back by popular demand “Attleboro River Clean Up” Awards and certificates will be given out around 11:15 to volunteers.

1) “What is it ??” Award for the most unusual item pulled from the river

2) “Largest Team/Group” Award for the largest group volunteering together

3) “Senior River Rat” Award for oldest senior river rat volunteer

4) “Attleboro River Clean Up” Award for the volunteer that collected the most bags of trash

5) All youths will receive a “Jr. River Clean Up” Certificate Local sponsors are: Leawood Appraisal, Mayor Kevin Dumas, Dunkin Donuts, Attleboro Jewelry Outlet, Attleboro Land Trust, and Senator Richard Ross.
