THE BEAUTY IN NATURE
The Gallery is located in the lobby of the Attleboro Arts Museum’s Emory Street entrance. For over a decade the Museum has been pleased to offer this prominent gallery space as an exhibition opportunity for both promising and professional artist members.
Community Gallery artist exhibitions span two month periods. This extended exhibition period provides member artists more exposure in the museum’s high-traffic Community Gallery space. A two-month long show will also allow visitors to spend more time with the works on display and provide an opportunity for the scheduling of special group tours and visits with coinciding exhibits in the main gallery.

The Beauty in Nature! A Series of Pastels by Lida Chase will be shown. “In this show, I tried to represent the beauty inherent in nature. Some of the subjects in these paintings might not be universally, considered beautiful, such as the predatory coyote. However, when seen in nature, there is beauty in all life. It is always my goal to capture this in paintings,” remarks artist, Lida Chase.
Lida Chase graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science Nursing. She worked as a nurse for 40 years and had never painted or drawn before eight years ago when her daughters gave her an easel for her birthday. At the time, Chase visited several open art studios, but had no instruction until she moved to Delaware in 2019.
While there, Chase took a painting course at the Carlin Academy of Fine Art, that gave her a foundation for her art. Neilson Carlin taught her the fundamentals of painting, and she has great regard for him and his studio.
Chase moved to North Attleboro, Massachusetts in 2020 and began taking classes with Lisa Granata in oil and pastel at the Attleboro Arts Museum as well as classes at the Providence Art Club. Her current focus is landscape and floral painting.
