Little Compton Historical Society to Offer Crafting Classes for Children

 

LITTLE COMPTON, RI, July 16, 2023– Inspired Craft Classes for Children.

 

The Little Compton Historical Society will host Inspired Craft Afternoons on select Wednesday afternoons this summer from 3 to 5 PM.  They will be held at 548 West Main Road, Little Compton, RI.

 

Join the Little Compton Historical Society for a series of fun crafts for children. Sign up for one. Sign up for them all. Snacks will be provided.

July 26

Fish Prints

Ages 8 – 13

Using ink, paint, paper and yes, a fish, you will create a one-of-a-kind fish print!  Be sure to wear old clothes or bring a smock. We will get messy.

 

August 2 

Basket Making

Use natural materials to weave a small basket using traditional techniques.  We’ve carefully selected kits that will help make your first basket project a positive experience and will give you choices to personalize your basket.

Rock Painting Party

Come on down for a rock painting party at LCHS!  We’ll get inspired by the non-uniform shape of our rocks to transform them into something new! Will you see a dinosaur in your rock, or perhaps a sunflower? Be sure to wear old clothes or bring an apron because painting can get a little messy!

Wood Burning

 Don’t worry!  No fire extinguishers required!  This classic craft is easy to learn and will let your creativity soar!  First learn safety procedures and then practice on a small project before you design and decorate your special keepsake.

Intro to Leatherworking

Ages 8 – 14

Recommended for adults, but crafty young people 12 & up are welcome.

Create three customized leathercrafts including a personalized wristband, a key chain, and a card case. Use dyes, stamps, waxed thread, rivets, snaps, and other tools to create one-of-a-kind pieces you can keep or give as gifts.
