WOMR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2023

OUTERMOST RADIO PROVINCETOWN, CAPE COD

Claudia Nygaard

Wednesday, March 8, 6am – midnight

Provincetown, February 2023: WOMR continues its tradition celebrating International Women’s Day 2023 on March 8th with fifteen powerful women DJs delivering music and interviews with a punch.

We underscore this year’s official theme, Embracing Equity, with a personal twist: Supportive Symbiosis as a means of creating equity.

All-day programming brings you music by female musicians representing multiple genres including world music, classical, jazz, indie rock, indie folk, and show tunes.

There will be interviews with journalists, neuroscientists, community leaders, and heroes. Listeners will gain a female perspective on issues including the war in Ukraine, education, and social services.

This year’s celebration includes a live concert hosted by Nashville’s Claudia Nygaard in The Schoolhouse’s Davis Space from 5-8pm (495 Commercial St., Provincetown).

Participating Cape Cod musicians include Kim Moberg, Monica Rizzio, Kathleen Healy, and Rayssa Delorey.

The suggested donation is $10.

From its inception in 1911 to its status today as a global holiday, International Women’s Day has celebrated the cultural, social, economic, and political accomplishments of women.

This year’s goal is a gender-equal world, free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, where everyone is treated equitably and inclusivity is the norm.

The women of WOMR believe this goal is better achieved with the support of the community, and resembles symbiotic relationships in nature.

From daybreak to midnight, the Grrl DJs of Provincetown’s Outermost Community Radio WOMR 92.1 & WFMR 91.3 FM will curate a sonic tapestry of music you won’t soon forget.
