City of Providence News

Dear Neighbor,

On January 2, 2023, I had the privilege of taking the oath of office as your mayor during a swearing-in ceremony held inside of the beautiful Providence Public Library. I would like to thank you for placing your trust in me to lead and serve our community for the next four years.

I would also like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all of our supporters, volunteers, staff and countless others who dedicated their time and energy to make this past year successful. I am excited to start the next chapter of our book as a city, working side by side with the members of our community to make Providence the best-run city in the nation!

As your mayor, I am committed to investing in the future of our city, and that work begins by ensuring we are delivering critical support to our students, both in and out of the classroom. In an effort to strategically plan for the future of the Providence Public Schools return to local control, our first event will be an Education Listening Session.

I encourage you to please join me at this event January 7, 2023, at the at the Juanita Sanchez Education Complex from 11am to 2pm, where we will take a closer look at how to build high-quality facilities, create better out-of-school supports, and work towards a successful turnaround of Providence Public Schools.

Please remember that you can learn more about the ongoing and upcoming initiatives that my administration is working on by following our official social media accounts.
