ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL – 200TH ANNIVERSARY GALA

Robert H. Prince, Jr., Takes Leadership Role in English High School’s 200th Anniversary Gala Set for October 1 in Boston

 

 

BOSTON, MASS. (Issued August 2022) — Robert H. Prince Jr., a Roxbury native who over a 25-year career worked his way up from bus driver to General Manager of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), has taken a leadership role in the planning and fundraising for the 200th Anniversary Gala for his alma mater, The English High School of Boston.

 

Several hundred alumni, family, friends, teachers, students and supporters will attend the celebration set for October 1 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel.

 

Prince, a member of the EHS Class of 1967, serves on the EHS Board of Directors. He is married with two children and two grandchildren.

 

He is the recipient of numerous awards including The YMCA Black Achiever Award; and Executive of the Year Award from the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), the leading national advocate for employment diversity, inclusion and contracting.

 

Other honors have included the Heroes Among Us Award presented by the Boston Celtics; Tuskegee Alumni Service Award; and the Big Friend Award from the Big Brother Association of Boston. He is Vice President of Transit with DMJM Harris AECOM.

 

English High, established in 1821, was America’s first public high school and boasts an impressive ‘Who’s Who’ list of notable alumni who have impacted every aspect of American life.
