HESSCO recognizes Pond Home???s Administrator for 20 years of Volunteer Service

WRENTHAM, MA… Pond Home???s Administrator Rebecca Annis was recently recognized at a HESSCO Advisory Council meeting for her outstanding commitment of 20 years of volunteer service on their Advisory Council.

Ms. Annis has formerly served as chair and vice chair and has participated in countless critical projects including their Title III Grant Review Committee, the Housing Committee, and outreach to

secure input from local seniors to guide the work of the Advisory Council.

Ms. Annis commented about her 20 years on the Advisory Council, ???This work has taught me more about the needs of the seniors in our twelve town area than any other experience I???ve had since coming to work at Pond Home in Wrentham in 1994.???

Ms. Annis is proud to be part of HESSCO, an organization that provides a wide range of services to elders in a 12 town service-area which includes Wrentham, Canton, Dedham, Foxboro, Medfield, Millis, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Sharon, Walpole, and Westwood.????

HESSCO???s impressive statistics for 2016 include providing 164,966 hot meals to home bound seniors through the Meals on Wheels program; providing 328,289 hours of homemaker, chore, personal care, or companion services to 1,642 seniors; and overseeing SHINE staff and volunteers who have provided 3,695 seniors with health insurance counseling.

In addition HESSCO???s protective services department responded to 508 reports of abuse and neglect, acting as the protection advocate for this vulnerable population.

Ms. Annis says, ???HESSCO is the source for area seniors and the people who love them, for reliable information and helpful services. I am proud to be a part of their effort.???

Pond Home, where Ms. Annis is the Administrator, is located at 289 East Street (Rte. 140) in Wrentham, offers elders long term care in a beautiful, warm setting. Pond Home is licensed by the Department of Public Health and is a not-for-profit Residential Care Facility with a Supportive Nursing Section. As such, nursing staff ???are on site 24 hours per day and can provide more medical support than typical Assisted Living facilities.

The entire building is handicap accessible. The volunteer Board of Trustees oversees professional management of Pond Home by Rogerson Communities, a leader in not-for-profit management of elder housing and health services.
