ATTLEBORO PUBLIC LIBRARY

August Happenings @ the APL

With books, movies, games, magazines and SO MUCH MORE, YOUR LIBRARY has something for everyone!

A Message from Our Director

AMY

The summer is flying by, and library staff have been thrilled to host so many popular events this summer. The building has been full of visitors of all ages. In June, we created 262 new library accounts, and the circulation desk answered more than 1,200 phone calls!

We’ve been happily recommending titles to summer readers — the voracious, book-a-day readers as well as the reluctant, I’m-only-reading-because-my-parents-make-me visitors. No matter where in that spectrum you find yourself, staff are ready to help you find just what you’re looking for.

Just ask us!

This month, we’ll be winding down the summer reading activities as we prepare for the fall. We’ve officially announced that Attleboro has been awarded another NEA Big Read grant and hundreds of copies of Sitting Pretty: The View from my Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body by Rebekah Taussig are arriving in Attleboro as I write.

We can’t wait to share the event calendar with you NEXT month. For a sneak peek of the book, use the hoopla app to download the ebook or the audiobook —

NO waiting!
