YOGA
Join us on Friday January 20, 2017 from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM in the Community Room for Kripalu Yoga for Beginners. This 90 minute Kripalu Yoga for Beginners Class is a safe and supportive starting point for those curious about yoga. Kripalu Yoga is the yoga of compassion. This practice focuses on the health and well-being of your body, for your mind and for your spirit. Classes begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare you for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation and meditation.?? Participants should wear loose fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat, bottled water, and a beach towel or blanket. Additional yoga props will be provided. All are welcome. Space is limited and registration begins 12/6.
Lisa Cohen, RYT-500 is an Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher and Ayurvedic Health Counselor certified from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Mass. She is also certified for Let Your Yoga Dance, registered with the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, the Yoga Alliance, and is CPR/AED Certified through the American Heart Association. ??After the death of his parents, a young boy named Pete (Oakes Fegley) finds an unlikely caregiver in the form of a dragon (whom he dubs “Elliot”) living in a forest in the Pacific Northwest. Years later, a forest ranger (Bryce Dallas Howard) discovers Pete and takes him in, but his attempts to adjust to a normal life are complicated by a man (Karl Urban) who wants to hunt down Elliot. Wes Bentley, Oona Laurence, and Robert Redford co-star. Directed by David Lowery, Pete’s Dragon is a remake of the 1977 children’s movie of the same name.?? Join Ms. Marsha from Self Help Inc.’s CFCE on Thursday January 26, 2017 from 10:30 AM-11:30 AM in the Community Room to sing songs, play with toys, read stories, and complete a simple craft loosely based around a monthly theme. There will be a period of free play in the beginning of the program, which allows parents to chat with each other while their children play.
