Dear Friends and Neighbors
A work party is planned for Tuesday, July 12, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Richardson Nature Preserve, 577B Wilmarth Street, Attleboro.
If you happen to be free, your help at this event would be appreciated.
Maintenance activities will include:
— Trimming overhead and at ground level along trails
— Weeding Deborah’s Garden
We will also be working in the hayfields to prepare them for mowing.
However, there is a lot of poison ivy in the hayfields, so don’t volunteer to work in those areas unless you have come dressed and prepared to avoid skin contact with this irritating plant.
— Marking rocks in the hayfields so the mower can avoid them
— Removing shrubs growing in the hayfields
— Removing any branches that have fallen onto the hayfields
Tools needed will include:
— Loppers, pruning shears, pruning saws, and other pruning tools
— Tarps
— String trimmers, weed whackers, brush cutters
— Garden weeding tools
We will have some tools, but please bring what you have.
Dress accordingly for protection against poison ivy and ticks. Insect repellent will be supplied. Please bring your own:
— Work gloves
— Water
Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Any cancellations due to weather will be posted on our website attleborolandtrust.org
Thank you,
Charlie Adler
