QUONSET POINTS

First four sites enrolled in Rhode Island Ready program

Rhode Island Ready achieved a key milestone when the Quonset Development Corporation board of directors approved the first four industrial sites for enrollment last month.

The $40 million site readiness initiative is modeled after Quonset Development Corporation’s successful program, which has generated more than 3,500 jobs and $664 million in private investment at Quonset across 14 developed sites and 36 companies in the last decade.

The four sites approved by the Quonset board were:

1307 Hartford Avenue in Johnston;

Comstock Parkway in Cranston;

40 Keyes Way in West Warwick, and;

550 Romano Vineyard Way at the Quonset Business Park in North Kingstown

“The RI Ready initiative is building momentum, and in the very near future, we will see new or expanded businesses at those sites,” said Gov. Dan McKee.

“I look forward to following the progress as these properties become ready for industrial development and job creation.”

RI Ready was also in the spotlight at the recent R.I. League of Cities and Towns Convention where Program Manager Chelsea Siefert, Rhode Island Commerce President & COO Hilary Fagan and Pare Engineering Program Coordinator Bobby Sykes provided an overview of the program to municipal leaders and representatives from across the state.
