Norton Public Library Event – StoryWalk: I Can Do It, Too!

Join us on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:30am for a Storywalk in the Norton Library Park!

This storywalk in Norton Library Park is focused on child development and what your child CAN DO! This is for families who have not done an Ages & Stages with CFCE before. Storybook pages will be placed along a circular walking path with interactive skill stations and activities to stop and do! When you reach the end of the book, a CFCE staff person will ask your child about the book you just read and how it made them feel and then encourage the family to sign up for the related Ages & Stages developmental questionnaire we offer as a free service with CFCE. It can be filled out at home online or a hardcopy, and it will show you where your child is developmentally in skills such as communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, personal-social and social-emotional.

REGISTER NOW; by emailing Carol at ccarver@selfhelpinc.org

Rain Date will be May 24, 2022

The StoryWalk® concept was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and was developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

Junior Friends is a group designed to let youth ages 10-18 take an active role in library programming, promotion, fundraising, and decision-making. We meet monthly from September through June, with additional sessions when we’re working on projects (irregular times, TBD and generally announced by email). Members will have opportunities to help improve the library by decorating the Children’s Room, contributing to book, music, movie, and video game selection, maintaining the Discovery Den, keeping the children’s and young adult book collections tidy, planning fundraising events, and more.

If you sign up to join Junior Friends, we will track your volunteer hours so you can submit them for school, scouting, etc. Come meet new people, enjoy the library, and make a difference in your community.
