STONE SOUP COFFEEHOUSE PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND

An Evening with Pete Silva and Paula Clare at Stone Soup Coffeehouse Providence –

Stone Soup Coffeehouse is excited to bring local artists Pete Silva and Paula Clare to The Music Mansion on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

The show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $20 and are available at the door or reserved through our website.

Opener: Corinne Wahlberg

Pete and Paula began collaborating in the early days of the pandemic lockdown. After seeing her perform a Bacharach-David song on her YouTube channel, Pete reached out to Paula.

According to Pete: “I saw Paula do an incredible version of “What the World Needs Now (Is Love). That’s not an easy song to perform. I had two songs in the almost finished stages – one an homage to Bacharach-David, and one a bossa nova.  I knew Paula’s talent was what those songs were waiting for.”

Pete went on to write more collaborations for Paula, including the lilting duet, “While the Mandolins Played,” and the social-justice inspired “(Say My Name) Freedom.” There are more songs and shows in the works for the duo, who are hoping to make this coming year a magical turning point in their careers.

Pete and Paula will also be joined by some surprise guest performers as they bring you an evening of great acoustic music.

The opener for this evening will be Corinne Wahlberg, who has been a lifelong member of the Stone Soup family and a talented singer-songwriter since her teens. Doors open 1/2 hour before the concert.

All seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Drinks & goodies are now offered as part of your ticket price – our thanks for attending our shows.

Donations for refreshments, however, are graciously accepted and will be donated in turn to a worthy cause.

Parking at The Music Mansion at 88 Meeting St, Providence, RI 02906 is limited and carpooling, ride-sharing, and mass transit are highly encouraged.

ABOUT PETE SILVA AND PAULA CLARE

PETE SILVA is a singer/songwriter/poet from South County, Rhode Island – the heart of New England. His influences are eclectic, and include Robert Frost, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Tom Petty, and of course, The Beatles.

He is also a poet, and a teacher of English literature. In his spare time, he paints in watercolor and builds New England farmer stone walls. He recently published and released a book of poetry “Late November Walk: Poems and Selected Lyrics” (available on Amazon and at our concert).

He also just released his latest album/cd “Simple Love, Simple Life.”

When PAULA CLARE takes the stage to sing, the dynamic entertainer has a unique appeal and boundless energy that creates a non-stop, spellbinding, positive party groove.

Creative expression is the common thread binding together all the elements of Paula’s colorful career. Trained at Second City Improv in Chicago, she began as an actress on stage, radio, television and film, first in Chicago and later, in Los Angeles. She’s appeared in features, made-for-TV movies and episodic television as well as countless ads and commercials.

But the role that got her the most “exposure” (if you’ll excuse the expression) was her body-double for actress Havilland Morris in “Sixteen Candles.” As Paula says, “I’m forever known as the “girl in the shower.”

These days, Paula entertains as a vocalist, singing in various musical projects—whether it’s her singer-songwriter showcase of classic and original compositions, PAULA CLARE MUSIC; or singing and playing keyboards with honky-tonk and roots rock band BISCUIT CITY; or with her blues, R&B and funky soul-jazz group, the PAULA CLARE BAND.
