The North Attleborough High School Theatre Company will present its 45th Annual One Act Play Festival on Saturday, January 14th 2017, at 7:00 PM, in the Judith E. Cobb Theatre.

Three plays will be presented.

???The Family Jewels??? is a hilariously ???whodunit??? written by Andy Gregg. In this raucous farce, directed by senior Andrew Lamoureux, assisted by senior Nicole Majewski, and advised by Mr. Alex Hatzberger, two deadbeat English aristocrats, Lord and Lady Twitchwell, played by freshman Bailey Hobbs and junior Kendall Grondel, respectively, are forced to sell off their precious gems in order to pay their taxes.????

Among the buyers is a motley crew of melodramatic moochers from around the globe. With the help of the renowned sleuth, Shirley Holmes, played by junior Casey Magas, this band of buffoons must figure out who is trying to abscond with the family jewels.????

The constant onslaught of twists and ridiculous antics will have ribs cracking in no time!

???Balcony Scene??? is a thought provoking drama by Donald Elser, directed by sophomore Jillian Allen, assisted by sophomore Meghan Roberts, and advised by Mrs. Erin Andersen.

The story follows the tragic death of a young man, Robert Templin, played by junior Caleb Vargas. Miraculously, Robert can witness his own funeral as a spirit. His disillusioned view that he was a beloved man is shattered as he comes to terms with the fact that his ???friends??? really considered him to be unlikeable and unstable.????

Be prepared to open your heart and your mind as Robert contemplates the consequences of his actions for his loved ones.

In Don Zolidis??? hilarious parody of nearly every young-adult dystopian novel, a group of contestants are forced to endure a grueling yet cheap maze in which somewhat functional death traps lie around every corner.

Directed by junior Alexander Rinaldi, assisted by junior Ahmad El-Zeftawy, and advised by Mrs. Lynda O???Brien, ???Dystopia! The Hungry Maze Game of Divergent Death??? presents the comical adventures of contestants in a lethal labyrinth, overseen by the cruel game-master, played by sophomore Amrita Adak, and her two dim-witted guards, played by juniors Will Pierce and Cameron Samuel.

Watch as the contestants struggle through the dysfunctional death-trap, and join in wondering, why on Earth is this even happening in the first place?

The audience will vote for their favorite actor and actress in each play and their favorite play overall. In addition, judges will choose the distinguished performances in each play and overall awards for best actor, best actress, best techie, and best director in the Festival will be given.

Tickets are $12.00 for adults, and $10.00 for high school and younger students and senior citizens. Tickets will be on sale at all lunches the week of the show and before and after school in Room 101 from Theatre Director Ms. Lisa Forsgard.
