WOMR: “OUTERMOST RADIO”

WOMR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2022

Tuesday, March 8   5AM – Midnight

Provincetown 2022

WOMR is kicking off its 40th birthday this month with a celebration of pioneers for International Women’s Day 2022 on March 8th. Rockin’ n’ rollin’ equity and justice, 19 DJs deliver music with a punch, underscoring this year’s theme of Breaking the Bias.

All day programming brings you barrier-breaking roots music and songs for human rights and social change.

The day highlights artists overcoming misogyny with courage, victories and struggles in gender equity and environmental and racial justice, Sondheim songs featuring female vocalists, female jazz instrumentalists, a 40-year retrospective of powerful Irish music, music of the 19th century, world and contemporary music, Stories from the Sisterhood and Hadestown the Broadway musical.

From its inception in 1911 to its status today as a global holiday, International Women’s Day has reveled in the cultural, social, economic, and political accomplishments of women.

This year’s global goal is to raise awareness against bias and inspire taking action for equality in a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all
