What Happened –
This rematch from the season opener saw Providence without their previous Player of the Game, Michael Mendes. Nonetheless the Pirates cleaned up their game plan and won in convincing fashion, even leading by 30 at one point in the fourth quarter. The captain of the ship was undoubtedly Tom Garrick Jr. who recorded a dominant 33 points, 15 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks.
Seven footer Kevin Briggs also contributed 17 points and seven rebounds. Despite facing double digit deficits multiple times throughout the game, Worcester showed their toughness and fought back every single time before the Pirates were finally able to put them away.
The Providence Pirates will look to extend their record to 3-0 next Sunday afternoon at the West Warwick Civic Center against the Bennington Martens.
