Pirates Win 2021-2022 Season Opener
Friday night on October 30th, your Pirates hosted the Worcester Majors in their very first game of the 2021-2022 season at their home arena, the West Warick Civic Center.
The Pirates took home their first win of the season with a final score of 101-97. It was an exciting back and forth game, with a large crowd, and some fun halloween festivities hosted by the Pirates staff.
When asked about the Pirates win Head Coach Mark Gaffney had this to say, “Anytime you win you’re happy to win, but there are a lot of areas that we can get better at. I have to give the Worcester Majors a lot of credit, they came in here and competed, they scrapped, they played hard and gave us a lot of problems.
So we’re gonna have to be better next Saturday in order to continue to win.”
“I’m just happy we got the win” said Pirates Forward Tom Garrick, “It was a good fight, Worcester is a really gritty team and I’m glad we were able to put them away.”
The Pirates next game will be a rematch against the Worcester Majors, in Worcester, MA on November 6th
