ATTLEBORO PUBLIC LIBRARY

A Message from Our Director

“The Library is OPEN!” These words are music to our ears. In this time of giving thanks, the Library is grateful for the support of the community!. Library patrons, board members, volunteers, our colleagues at City Hall, and the renovation project team have encouraged us during trying times. We are thrilled to welcome everyone back into this beautiful building.

While the inside looks much the same as it did before, some changes have been made. All movies, documentaries, and TV series have been moved to the third floor for easier browsing.

The foreign language collection has been moved to the first floor, and our video game collection is in a more visible location in the lobby. We hope you enjoy the new arrangement.

Exciting changes have been made to library technology as well. New equipment donated by Sensata Technologies has been installed, and internet connections and speeds are stronger and faster than ever.

This undertaking was truly a team effort, combining funding from the Attleboro Foundation, the Volterra Foundation, the Library Board of Trustees, and the City of Attleboro. A talented team of library and city staff, along with select volunteers with expertise in the field, have put in long hours to make these essential upgrades possible.

Library programs have changed, too.

Mrs. Brown is holding storytime outside in the Balfour Riverwalk Park most Wednesdays at 3:30pm. On rainy days, she is on Facebook Live, allowing families to tune in while she reads, or watch at a later time.

Many of our book discussions continue to meet virtually while our meeting rooms are unavailable due to the finishing touches of construction.

Others are being held off-site.

We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to find ways to connect and provide quality services that keep everyone’s health and safety in mind.
