PUBLIC LIBRARY NORTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Celebrate World Postcard Day all month long!

How? Visit the Norton Public Library to get a postcard to share.

The best way to celebrate postcards is to use them!

We have postcards at the library for you to use. We will be collecting postcards for local seniors, veterans and others who might really appreciate a hand-written postcard from YOU!

What should you say in your postcard to a stranger? Anything! A simple “Hello” and a drawing from you, a “fun fact” about you or your hometown, a kind note of thoughts for good health, a “thinking of you” for a senior, or a thank you for their service to a veteran. Your postcard, especially coming from an unknown individual, will be guaranteed to make the recipient smile and feel remembered.

You may also take a postcard to send yourself.

Who do you think would like to get a postcard from you?

All your relatives! Parents and grandparents are obvious choice, but you can also send postcards to those family members who might live far away, or that you especially cherish and can’t wait to see again.

Children, some of whom might have not yet had the pleasure of finding a piece of mail just for them on their mailbox… you can be the first to surprise them!

Elderly people in local nursing homes, who could use some cheering up in these times of social isolation.

Mentors and teachers. Tell them about the lasting impact they’ve had in your life, or the important lessons you remember.

Catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a while, let them know how you’re doing and that you’re thinking about them.

Show your support to local groups or good causes.

THANK YOU.
