SHARPER HARPER
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (August 23, 2021) – It is hard to believe that September is here which means there are only two Farmers’ Markets left to the Weaver Library 2021 market season.
Along with shopping for the most delicious fruits and vegetables, don’t miss your chance to sharpen your knives, scissors and other cutting tools on Thursdays, September 2nd and September 9th. “Sharper Harper” returns to the market from 4pm – 7pm each Thursday.
Every good Farmers’ Market has special, local farmers and Weaver Library’s Market is no exception. Come meet Nayeema of Geek Gardens who has been with the market since the second year. Nayeema’s little “cucamelons” are a big hit every summer.
Be sure to stop by the Market Table too to stock up on local maple syrup, granola, tomato sauce, hot sauce, and beautiful $2 hand-made masks.
Lunar’s Fire, maker of hand poured soy candles and wax melts, will be at the pop-up artisan booth both Thursdays in September.
One of our favorite duos, Cardboard Ox, will entertain with their sweet and soulful harmonies on September 2nd.
Save the date as the rocking Kleyla Family Band featuring vocalist Katie Kleyla will close out the Market on September 9th.
Kudos to The Friends of the East Providence Public Library who have held their weekly book sale throughout the summer. There are still plenty of books at great prices with a special offer of a free soft cover book for all children.
Food access remains a priority for the Market. The Welcome Table accepts SNAP/EBT, WIC Coupons, and credit or debit cards. In 2021, Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons are available at the Market while supply lasts.
For the most current market information, see the Weaver Library Farmers’ Market Facebook page or call the library at 401-434-2453.
