Rhode Island SHRM to Host Statewide Virtual Job Expo in partnership with 16 Professional Associations and Chambers of Commerce PROVIDENCE, RI –
The Rhode Island Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (RI SHRM) is hosting a statewide job expo virtually from August 30th 2021 until September 23rd 2021.
As the State of Rhode Island’s unemployment assistance comes to an end on September 4th, RI SHRM’s job expo seeks to aid unemployed Rhode Islanders as they look toward the next steps in their careers, by uniting them with businesses seeking to expand their workforce. Attendees can interact with employer booths starting on Monday August 30th through Thursday September 23rd .
This timeframe will give job seekers ample opportunity to familiarize themselves with job openings and the employers they would like to apply to. Sixteen professional associations and chambers of commerce have agreed to promote the event to their membership including the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, Charlestown Chamber of Commerce, East Bay Chamber of Commerce, East ProvidenceChamber of Commerce, Employers Association of the Northeast, Greater Newport CountyChamber of Commerce, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Jamestown Chamber of Commerce,Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, Polaris MEP, Rhode Island Bankers Association, Rhode Island Black Business Association, Rhode Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Rhode IslandHospitality Association, Rhode Island Manufacturers Association and the Rhode Island Society of CPAs/Rhode Island Business Forum.
The event is also sponsored by the Rhode Island Blood Center.
Some of the current employers that are signed up forthe event include the Rhode Island Blood Center, Massage Envy, Bristol Community College and Darlington Fabrics, among others.
These employers will have a variety of open positions posted, and job seekerswill be able to chat with booth staff and submit their resumes virtually. Additionally, this event will feature workshops and exhibitor booths from various businesses and support services throughout Rhode Island.
