MOLINACARES SUPPORTS FAMILY SERVICES OF RHODE ISLAND

The MolinaCares Accord Donates $30,000 to Family Service of Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, RI — On Tuesday, July 27th, Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) announced a $30,000 donation from The MolinaCares foundation that will give a big boost to two FSRI programs that are already positively impacting the lives of the Rhode Islanders — APRI and Project S.O.S.

Aids Project Rhode Island, also known as APRI, was formed 36 years ago in response to the AIDS/HIV crisis and continues to support those living with or affected by AIDS statewide.

Project S.O.S. (Support Ocean State) helps children affected by Substance Use Disorder through therapy, education, and training. This program’s innovative pivot during the pandemic, when in-person visits were no longer possible, was highlighted by the US Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week last April

“MolinaCares is proud to provide this donation to FSRI in support of its efforts to assist low-income families across Rhode Island with a variety of essential services,” said Lisa Faust, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Molina Healthcare. “MolinaCares was inspired by this organization’s mission and work advocating on behalf of youth who may be impacted by the opioid epidemic and those living with HIV.”

“I want to thank the MolinaCares Accord for recognizing the importance of these programs to Rhode Islanders, and for this generous donation that will allow us to sustain these programs for years to come,” said FSRI Health Division Vice President Marie Palumbo-Hayes, who accepted the donation on behalf of FSRI.

“Building stronger, more resilient communities is part of MolinaCares’ mission,” said Carolyn Ingram, executive director of The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation. “MolinaCares aims to remove the barriers which prevent so many individuals and families from receiving quality health care and help provide the accompanying support resources needed to improve their lives.”
