FARM FRESH RHODE ISLAND

Summer Saturdays with Live Music and Painting at Sims Market

Providence, RI — Summer at Farm Fresh RI’s Sims Market in Providence continues through the end of October, offering local produce, coffee, bread, fish, meat, baked goods, food trucks, and other locally grown and made snacks every Saturday 9am-1pm. The year-round market overlooking the Woonasquatucket River at the corner of Sims and Kinsley Avenues will evolve back into Farm Fresh’s popular wintertime market for its 14th year this November—picking right up at the end of the summer market season.

As Farm Fresh settles into their new home in the valley neighborhood of Providence, they are excited to celebrate everything the vibrant area has to offer with Olneyville and Valley residents and families. In addition to hosting local farmers and food producers at the market, Farm Fresh is collaborating with valley neighbors like ISCO: The Industrious Spirits Company ( iscospirits.com), The Steel Yard ( thesteelyard.org), Waterfire Arts Center ( waterfire.org), Lost Valley Pizza and Brewery ( lostvalleypizza.com), Tellart ( tellart.com), and Nicholson File Art Studios ( nicholsonfilepvd.com) among others.

Live Music and Mural Painting at Sims Market
Upcoming events at Sims Market include educational activities with the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council ( wrwc.org), local arts pop-ups, and a weekly live music series produced by PVDLive featuring local musicians. The lineup for June includes:
June 5 — soul singer Empress, with live mural painting by Savonnara
June 12 — Jose Panman Costa
June 19 — Frankenphil
June 26 — Elementary Music

Monthly live mural demonstrations kick off June 5th with Providence artist Savannora. These painting demos will continue on the first Saturday of the month, alongside a new outdoor Art Market featuring self-made art by local artists and artisans being held 10am–3pm across the street at The Steel Yard, located at 27 Sims Ave. Stay tuned for more collaborative events in the valley coming soon.

Free Compost Drop-Off at Sims Market
The public is welcome to bring residential food scraps for composting to the market. Please drop off only compostable materials into the compost collection bin, located toward the back of the Farm Fresh parking lot by the loading docks.
