When the possibility emerged of presenting a sweet taste of The Nutcracker to our beloved audience in the open air, we couldn’t turn it down.
Having presented The Nutcracker in Providence for more than four decades, we’ve seen the delight in the eyes of audiences of all ages. We know what a magical gift this ballet can be.
COVID-19 had other plans.
In light of the pandemic’s surge in Rhode Island and across the country, and with the safety of our audience and community in mind, in person performances of our Nutcracker Sweets! program will not move forward as scheduled.
This decision was made at the direction of public health officials from the Dept. of Business Regulation and RI Commerce Corporation.
Patrons with tickets will be contacted by the box office to resolve their order.
We are planning a filmed version of this new choreography to give our community a chance to delight in the magic of The Nutcracker .
The on-demand version will be offered to the community in time for the holiday, free of charge. We can’t wait to share this with you.
Much like the story of The Nutcracker , this journey has been full of magical moments, unique challenges, and unexpected delights.
To the artists and students who poured your heart and souls into preparing for this program, and to those in our community who cheered us on with messages of love and support “Thank You .”
