Hello friend,
Halloween, like everything else, is going to look different this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun.
This week we announced the Safe & Spooky Halloween Contest, sponsored by the Rhode Island Department of Education and the Rhode Island Foundation.
We’re challenging all Rhode Island students to share how you’ll be celebrating Halloween this year while following our public health guidance.
I’ve already heard so many creative ideas, from building slides out of PVC pipe to hand out candy safely, to organizing virtual pumpkin carvings.
We’ll pick winners with the most creative ideas.
And thanks to the generosity of the Rhode Island Foundation, twelve winners will each receive a cash prize of $50.
Submit your ideas on
by Tuesday, Oct. 27th at 4pm to enter the contest.
(We can only accept submissions there! I’m excited to see what you come up with, but please make sure you upload them to the website rather than replying to this email.)
We’ll announce the winners next week and share the best ideas on
We’re all in this together.
