SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

PAWTUCKET PARKS AND RECREATION

The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division has released its annual summer concert series lineup.  Those attending any of the City performances are asked to adhere to the State of Rhode Island Department of Health regulations which include the wearing of face coverings, social distancing and no congregating in groups. 

 

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are asked to not attend these performances.  Patrons are encouraged to provide their own hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes for each performance.

The free Tuesday night children’s performances, sponsored in part with Factory Carpet Outlet  of 25 Esten Avenue in Pawtucket, will begin on August 4 with Robert Clarke, followed by Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy on August 11, Lon Cerel on the 18th and T-Bone completing the Series on August 25th

 

All performances will begin at 6 pm and last for one hour.  Designated spaces will be outlined in the new location at picnic field site # 13 , which is adjacent to the pond.  Event capacity will be limited in order to adhere to RIDOH spacing regulations.

The free musical performances once held at Daggett Farm on Thursday nights, will be moved to the Jenks Jr High School and Agnes Little parking lots on Ashton Street in Pawtucket this year and sponsored in part with the Butler & Messier Insurance Inc. of 1401 Newport Ave, Pawtucket. 

 

The performances will be a drive-in concept, allowing patrons to park at a designated spot and sit in front of their car to hear the performance. 

 

Carloads are limited to four people.  Due to limited parking, it will be on a first-come/ first-served basis. 

 

The concert series opens with John Connors and the Irish Express on Thursday, July 23 followed by Shakedown on July 30.  Shermer High and their tribute to the 80s start the month of August on Thursday, August 6, Keturah’s Dream on 8/13, Cold Sweat on 8/20  and the Jesse Liam Band on August 27. 

 

Performances will begin at 6 pm and continue until 7:30. 

 

Food trucks will be on hand for some of the performances and will be announced on the Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Facebook page.

The Sunday night Riverfront Concert Series, sponsored in part with Courtesy Mitsubishi, will begin at the school parking lots on Ashton Street with Acoustic Drive on July 26 and will return back to the Veteran’s Amphitheater located on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Exchange Street in downtown Pawtucket for the remaining of the series performances. 

 

The Veteran’s Amphitheater will host the Billy Shears Band on Sunday, August 2, The Fabulous Shittons on 8/9, Nickel Jukebox on 8/16 and the Rockin’ Soul Horns on Sunday August 23rd.

 

These performances will begin at 6 pm and continue until 7:30 pm.

In the event of inclement weather this year, performances will be canceled and not rescheduled or moved to an alternate venue.  Cancellations and/or performance updates can be found at the City of Pawtucket Facebook page or by calling the Recreation Office during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
