“CONVERSATION AMONG FRIENDS”

Linden Place’s Presents The Essex Piano Trio for “Conversation among Friends” Concert Performance at Linden Place Mansion

Head to Linden Place on Sunday, March 8 at 2 PM for an afternoon of classical music inside the mansion’s historic parlors.

Linden Place continues its concert series with a performance by the Boston-based Essex Piano Trio. The entire program will be devoted to the Opus 1 trios by Ludwig van Beethoven.  In keeping with the audience-friendly “Conversation among Friends” format of its programs, the Trio will share history and notes about Beethoven and his remarkable pieces as we celebrate the year leading up the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

Ludwig van Beethoven’s Opus 1 is a set of three piano trios written for piano, violin and cello. It was first performed in 1795 and are among the composers first major works.

Essex Piano Trio is in its fifth season performing together as a trio. After performing with one another in various groups for several years, these musical friends and colleagues have committed themselves to working together to develop a new level of artistry as they explore familiar cornerstones of the repertoire as well as new and old less well-known works. Ashley Offret, violin, David Cabral, cello, and Beverly Soll, piano, have adopted the signature title “Conversation among Friends” for their concerts, a title which relates strongly to their approach to the music and to each other.

The performance takes place at Linden Place inside the historic mansion parlors at 500 Hope Street, Bristol. Admission is $20, $15 for members and free for Colt Circle members.  Reservations are recommended as space is limited.  To purchase tickets, visit www.lindenplace.org or call (401)253-0390.
