TOM SHEERIN TO TAKE REINS OF FEEHAN BOYS LACROSSE PROGRAM

Veteran assistant coach to lead Shamrocks

TOM SHEERIN

ATTLEBORO, MA – Bishop Feehan High School is proud to announce that Tom Sheerin has been named the Shamrocks boys varsity lacrosse coach.

Sheerin is a founding father of boys lacrosse at Feehan, having served on the Shamrocks coaching staff since the program started in 2005.

He has served as an assistant coach in the program for its entire history, including working with the 2017 varsity team that reached the Division 2 South Sectional finals.

Sheerin also brings 21 years of coaching experience with the Attleboro Titans Youth Lacrosse program.

Sheerin replaces Christian Schatz, who left the position last summer to become Feehan’s athletic director.

“We couldn’t be happier than to have Tom join our head coaching staff,” said Schatz.  “His knowledge of the game and his enthusiasm and passion will serve our student-athletes very well.”

Sheerin credits former President Chris Servant ’66 for his  support in starting the lacrosse program at Feehan. Lacrosse has become one of the area’s and the country’s ’fastest growing youth sports, and  Sheerin has coached some local athletes from third grade all the way through senior year of high school.

“I love the sport,” he said. “It’s a stress release for me. It’s pretty special to know these players from third grade into high school and an honor when some of them become collegiate athletes.”

Sheerin  lives in Attleboro, with his wife, Pam. They are parents of three Feehan alumni – Brigitte ’10, Thomas ’13 and Dante ’18.
