Happy New Year! As we welcome 2020, I want to update you on the work my team and I have done over the past year to help folks across Massachusetts’ Second District. I’m especially proud to announce that we helped solve over 2,200 problems for constituents seeking assistance. Take a look at the full report below:
Making Prescription Drugs Less Expensive – H.R. 3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, would lower the cost of prescription drugs by ensuring that drug companies don’t charge more in America than they do in other countries for the exact same drugs. Click here to see why I was proud to cosponsor and vote yes on this important bill.
Acting On Climate Change – I was also proud to cosponsor and vote yes on H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, to combat the climate crisis and block President Trump from pulling the United States out of the Paris Agreement.
Giving America A Pay Raise – H.R. 582, the Raise The Wage Act, would raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2025, giving up to 33 million Americans a raise, and lifting at least 1.3 million Americans out of poverty. I was proud to cosponsor and vote yes on this vital bill.
These are just a few of the more than 400 bills — including 275 bipartisan bills — that House Democrats passed in 2019 as we continue our work #ForThePeople.
