Gail Frigon, a native of Attleboro, MA has been a lover of art her whole life Her use of rich color and subtle mood in her still life and floral subjects are widely sought after around the region. Gail has been perfecting her craft as a fine artist for over 30 years, studying with renowned art instructors around the country and in Europe and now instructs many students herself out of her studio right here in North Attleboro. The largest supporters of her art career have always been her family, most especially her late husband Bill Frigon.

After Bill’s passing several years ago, Gail wanted to paint something as a tribute to him and his love of her talent. Although she had never considered painting anything with a religious subject matter, Gail was drawn to the image of Christ as a fitting tribute. She knew that whatever she painted, she wanted to gift it to Grace Church as a memorial to Bill’s journey through this life and into the next. Her first painting of Christ crucified resulted in the start of a new journey for Gail too.
The painting was warmly received by the former rector of Grace Church, the Rev Maryalice Sullivan, and rather than hang it in the Common Room where Gail imagined it would be, Rev. Sullivan asked her if she could hang it in the sanctuary of the church. Worshiping with Bill’s painting prominently hung in the church each week moved Gail to paint yet another Christ-themed painting, then another, then another. Her creative spiritual journey resulted in Gail’s depiction of each of the Stations of the Cross.
These paintings are a permanent installation in the sanctuary of Grace Episcopal Church on North Washington Street in downtown North Attleboro, MA. After each painting was completed, blessed and hung, members of Grace were given the opportunity via raffle for the chance to memorialize loved ones of their own. Not only did Gail provide the church with breath taking artwork but she also allowed members of the church to share her gift with their families.
