CULTURAL CENTER OF CAPE COD

EASY RIDER MOVIE & DINNER

Chef Joe Cizynski

Wednesday, November 20

from 5:30-7:30pm

$55 per person

Fifty years ago, “Easy Rider” rode into movie theaters across the country – forever changing American cinema and pop culture. In 1969 Dennis Hopper and friends set out to make one of the last great movies of the decade, changing independent film making forever.

Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper), two Harley-riding hippies, complete a drug deal in Southern California and decide to travel cross-country in search of spiritual truth. On their journey, they experience bigotry and hatred from the inhabitants of small-town America and also meet with ot her travelers seeking alternative lifestyles. After a terrifying drug experience in New Orleans, the two travelers wonder if they will ever find a way to live peacefully in America.

“You know, Billy. We blew it.”

We will start our food journey in Los Angeles at Gus’ BBQ and have their fried chicken, continue to Flagstaff Ariz and Big Foot’s BBQ and have the slow cooked pork shoulder, next in Taos New Mexico we will have crusted grilled duck breast from Medley Restaurant and finish in New Orleans with Brennan’s Bananas Foster!!! This is a BYOB event, feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer (if you are 21 and up of course)!

This special event meets in the Owl Hall. We will be playing the movie with the volume on. The dinner also includes admission to Art on Two Wheels, a special exhibit of Harley Davidson motorcycles.
