??New England’s Most Famous Feuds
Ted Reinstein–New Englander, author, and longtime reporter, producer, and anchor for WCVB-TV Channel 5???s ???Chronicle??? nightly news magazine, is back on Thursday March 24, 2016 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room to talk about his upcoming book “Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds!” Advanced copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
“From sports to politics, food to finance, aviation to engineering, to bitter disputes over simple boundaries themselves, New England???s feuds have peppered the region???s life for centuries. They???ve been raw and rowdy, sometimes high minded and humorous, and in a place renowned for its deep sense of history, often long-running and legendary. There are even some that will undoubtedly outlast the region???s ancient low stone walls.”??
Program and refreshments sponsored by the Friends of the Norton Public Library.
Read and Rise
Join us on Friday March 25, 2016 from 10:30 AM-11:30 AM in the Community Room for Read and Rise.?? This is a six-week toddler literacy playgroup for children ages 2-3 run by Nancy Swirka from Self Help Inc.’s Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program.
All families have strengths they can draw upon to foster children’s literacy.?? This free, six-session playgroup will help families to support their children’s early literacy development. Children and parents will be actively engaged in books, songs, activities, hands-on materials and playgroup routines. Each week, every family will receive a different children’s book.??
We ask that families make a commitment to attending for all six weeks, although we understand when things come up.
??Space is limited.?? Pre-register with Nancy Swirka by email nswirka@selfhelpinc.org or call 508-559-1666 ext. 116. Priority will be given to families who have not attended a previous Self Help Read & Rise Program.?? Contact: Nancy Swirka ?? 508-559-1666 x116 ?? nswirka@selfhelpinc.org
