MAYOR GREBIEN’S FUNDRAISER POSTPONED

PAWTUCKET – Friends of Donald R. Grebien announced today that the fundraiser scheduled for Monday, June 24th, will be postponed.

 D DON PAW mayor

The bully tactics of the state fire union boss, Joe Andriole who has been unwilling to agree to a contract that protects the Pawtucket residents, have again encouraged members of Local 1261 to make a public policy matter into a nonfactual political sideshow.

Out of respect for the Pawtucket Country Club, the individuals hosting the fundraiser, and the guests that were planning on joining us tomorrow, we feel compelled to postpone the fundraiser. Unfortunately, the fire union bullies Mayors statewide as they protect their residents they are elected to serve. We will not provide the Fire Union this opportunity to intimidate those planning on attending the fundraiser.

The campaign thanks the residents of Pawtucket and other supporters who planned to attend for their patience and understanding regarding this late announcement, and apologizes for any inconvenience.

The Mayor has to govern the City of Pawtucket, and sadly it seems that when he does his job in a manner that does enrich the Fire Union, the Fire Union will target local businesses and residents with political protests.

Everyone who supports Don Grebien knows he is a fiscal watchdog for the taxpayers of Pawtucket and the Fire Union is sadly protesting his fiscal stewardship. The public also knows that Mayor Grebien has been very fair with City Unions, and has struck collective bargaining agreements with all other unions in Pawtucket that are fair to the unions and to taxpayers. We know Don will continue to keep taxpayers’ best interests first with real progress and real results through proven leadership, despite these fire union bully tactics.
