WEAVER LIBRARY PRESENTS “FOUR LEGS TO STAND ON”

A Play about Our Addiction Crisis at the Weaver Library

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (October 24, 2018) – The East Providence Public Library and the East Providence Prevention Coalition are proud to present?? Four Legs to Stand On, a powerful play about one family???s struggle with their child???s opioid addiction on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7pm.?? Written by Ana Bess Moyer Bell, the play seeks to bring addiction awareness to the mainstream.

 

The performance runs 35-minutes and features actors Paul Kandarian, Jane Bird, Becky Minard, and Rachel Tondreault. A talkback with the playwright and actors follows with reflections on how communities can shift the social underpinnings that stigmatize those who suffer. The evening???s program challenges audiences to a deeper understanding of a crisis that touches everyone. Indeed, it is our addiction crisis.

 

Four Legs to Stand On is a production of Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together or COAAST, a RI based organization founded by Ana Bess Moyer Bell. COAAST???s mission is to eradicate the opioid epidemic through arts-based educational, therapeutic, and community driven approaches.

 

Representatives from several RI organizations focused on mental health and addiction recovery will be available before and after the play with information and additional resources.????
