Rethinking Plastics
Roughly half of annual plastic production is for single use plastic products.
National and local news report a glut of recyclables with programs shutting down.
Plastic bags clog recycling machinery or litter land and sea, causing harm to wildlife.
Can we save our recycling programs? Should we ban plastic bags? Can we change our plastic use habits?
Join us for a discussion on plastic usage on Thursday, November 8, 6:30 to 8:00 pm, at Attleboro Public Library.
The event will feature a panel discussion with:
- Jessica Singarella, Solid Waste Administrator, City of Attleboro
- Elizabeth Clemmey, TeamUp Mansfield, plastic bag reduction campaign that won town meeting approval last May in Mansfield
- Attleboro High School Science and Public Policy Students
- Moderator, Judy DePue, Coordinator of the Sustain-Ability Group for the library.
Following the panel discussion, the audience will also join in the discussion.
This event is free and open to the public.
