Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island Strikes it BIG raising over $40,000 at annual ???Bowl For Kids??? Sake???

CRANSTON, R.I. (October 18, 2018)???Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) hosted Bowl For Kids??? Sake (BFKS), on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11 am-2 pm at Lang???s Bowlarama in Cranston.??

Participants were able to sign up in teams of five to participate in a private bowling party, and raise donations from family, friends and colleagues leading up to the event???with a fundraising goal of $100 for each participant.

???Our goal to net $40,000 through sponsorships, raffles, and team commitments was achieved,??? said Liz Catucci, BBBSRI board member, and 2018 chair of BFKS.?? ??

???Every dollar raised will go to supporting mentoring programs for Rhode Island children.???

?????Research indicates that one-on-one mentoring has a profound impact on children???boosting self-confidence, improving school performance, and helping them avoid risky behaviors by being defenders of children???s potential??? said Katje Afonseca, BBBSRI Executive Director.

???While not everyone can commit to a long-term mentoring relationship, supporting Bowl for Kids??? Sake helps us match more children in our community with caring adult mentors.???

The fundraiser was presented by Savers and co-sponsored by Marcovich, Mansour & Capobianco, LLC, Amgen, BankRI, Batista Management, BDK Sales Consulting, Cox Communications, Peregrine Property Management, UnitedHealthcare and Webster Bank.

This is the second year that BBBSRI has hosted a bowling fundraiser. Last year was a great success raising over $31,000.
