Maypole Dance & Celebration – Honoring the Weaver Copper Beech

Take part in this ancient Spring celebration to kick off our special
‘Honoring the Weaver Copper Beech’ event. Show up for a quick lesson at
5:30pm to dance at 6pm! Following that will be speakers and a discussion
to preserve the legacy of this historical landmark. Free and open to
all.
Guacamole Cooking Demo

Register to join us for a guacamole cooking demo and taste the end

Reading Buddies
Tuesdays, 4-6pm at Weaver Library
Ages 5-10
This low pressure drop-in program offers one-on-one time for school age
kids to practice reading with adults. Volunteers from the community –
recruited and trained by youth services librarians – will be ready to
listen to your child read for at least 20 minutes, with the option for
more time if there are no other children waiting. If all volunteers are
busy when your child arrives, there will be educational games available
to play.
DIY Lip Balm and Bath Bomb

differences. While all ages are welcome, the program is designed at a

Managing Mental Health as a Family

For caregivers and their elementary age children
Bring your kids and come learn some age-appropriate, family-focused
mental health tools! This program is for caregivers and elementary age
children together, and will last 90 minutes. Registration is encouraged
but not required. Presented by Jordyn Hagar, PhD, LICSW, a Providence
College professor and the creator of Stronger Together.

May StoryWalkⓇ
All day, every day, all ages – on the lawn at Weaver Library
Our May picture book is Drawn Together by Minh Le in celebration of
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. StoryWalk® is a
self-guided reading adventure that is available everyday for all ages.
Pages of a picture book are displayed in frames on a trail around the
perimeter of the lawn at Weaver Library. The goal of the StoryWalk® is
to increase children’s interest in books and reading while encouraging
healthy outdoor activity for all ages, and reconnecting children and
adults to nature.
